Hi all, I was looking to set up a Shoutcast server. I have everything configured right with Winamp, and the stream seems to be up and running. However, whenever someone tries to connect, the website won't come up. I set up a DYNDYS account, and it went through, so I can't figure out what's wrong. Any thoughts?

It could be that you are behind a router. Make sure you have port 8000 forawded. That's the bigest problem with everyone.

I already forwarded ports 8000 and 8001. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

it could also be 8002, so you might waht to try that as well. And what version of the server are you trying to run? What are you using as your encoders? You need to make sure your INI is configured with the proper information.

I've already configured the ini file with the right setting. I'm using the shoutcast dsp encoder for Winamp, and I'm using Shoutcast gui version 1.9.8. I'll also try forwarding 8002 to see what happens, and get back to you if it works.

If you can aford it, why not just buy one?
radiobash has some pretty good prices.

Well, wouldn't it be better to get a fre one working first then buy one? Personally, i'm not going to buy one, I got mine up and running, and that's what I'm gonna stick with I think.

Yeah, I would rather try to get it working for free, rather than spend money on something that's not gonna work anyways.

OK, I've forwarded 8002, and I still can't connect to it.

Y would u need to forward 8002 though. All u have to do it forward 8000 and 8001. The only things that I can see, is somehow, something got screwed up with the ports forwarding, or your DSP plugin. I walked u though the config file,so I'm almost positive that its al set up right. The only other thing I can think of, is your password. They have to match everywhere.
